Massage Demonstrations & Workshops |
|
To promote the benefits of Equine Sports Massage, Becky Bailey is available for demonstrations or workshops at your livery yard, private stables, riding/pony club or equestrian centre. Places would be limited to minimum of 6 people on both the demonstrations and workshops. Workshops will be kept to a maximum of 10 people to ensure Becky has sufficient time see all of you during the practical session.
The demonstrations allow you to observe the therapist at work and gain a better understanding of the benefits of Sports Massage Therapy.
The workshops are aimed at owners/trainers/riders who wish to gain skills that will enable them to help maintain supple and healthy musculature, help prevent injury, create a better bond with their horse, and aid relaxation.
Prices are per person (lunch not included on workshop). Depending on your location, travel expenses at cost may be incurred.
Please call Becky on 07739 018476 or email to discuss your requirements.
Demonstrations — approx 2hrs £15
An overview of the role of the Equine Massage therapist, discussing the physiological and psychological benefits to the horse.
Using a live model, (an equine from your yard*) the techniques of Sports Massage will be demonstrated, discussing areas of tension found relating to a variety of disciplines. Areas such as foot balance and conformation will also discussed through the demonstration.
* Permission to massage would be required from the vet responsible for the horse used in the demonstration.
Workshops — approx 5hrs including 1/2 break for lunch £40
First two hours of the workshop are theory based, looking in more detail at the physiology of the horse, the interlinkage of the body systems and the benefits and effects massage has on the equine body. The importance of foot balance will be discussed, as will conformation and how it can affect the equine.
The initial theory will provide a clearer understanding of the equine physiology and structure and will form a good basis from which to start the practical session in the afternoon. This will comprise of Becky performing a full massage on a horse from your yard*, discussing the various different techniques, where to use them and why. Becky will highlight the areas of tension found relating to various disciplines. *Permission to massage would be required from the vet responsible for the horse used in the demonstration.
You will then practice these techniques on your horse, with Becky on hand to help or answer any questions.
To close the day, there will be a question and answer session. |
